This is fascinating shit. Its good to see this means of communication being exploited for the better in India. I was on a vacation in India recently and for almost every new shop/business I was visiting, my mobile number was requested for to be entered into a raffle(hidden agenda) with me receiving their latest business updates/offers/schemes sms in the matter of minutes. This may probably be the most annoying way to apprise people of new stuff but, works mostly with 20-35 yr olds who are plugged onto their phones for the better part of the day in India too as shown above about in the United States..
